Porn actress Christy Mack has just released a new set of emojis called Mackmoji, which includes domestic violence themed emoticons that resemble her. Mackmojis include psuedo-pornographic illustrated images, as well as images that depict the physical marks of domestic violence.
The decision to include a few emojis with a black eye, bruising, and so on is a way of bringing attention through shock value. I'm willing to risk some people using them in a negative way to get the point across
The somewhat graphic illustrated images of Mack with bruises and cuts on her face were created to raise awareness for domestic violence. The actress was previously in a relationship with MMA fighter Jon Koppenhaver a.k.a. War Machine, who went to prison in 2015 on domestic violence charges after he badly beat Mack. According to ESPN W, Mack had to undergo extensive reconstructive surgery on her face as a result of the injuries Koppenhaver inflicted.
The official description of the emojis says the domestic violence themed images "are designed to bring attention to the domestic violence cause and the horror that War Machine inflicted on Christy."
According to TMZ, Mack acknowledges that the images may be shocking and controversial to some, but that she hopes the emojis will help make a difference to victims. She told TMZ:
The emojis are available for purchase as of Thursday, and TMZ reported that a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the non-profit organization Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence.
Christy Mack did not immediately reply to Complex's request for comment.
