A well-known Donald Trump supporter jumped onto the bandwagon of the Presidential candidate's recent attacks on Sen. Elizabeth Warren's Native American heritage at a campaign event in Bangor, Maine on Wednesday. Howie Carr, a conservative radio host in the Boston area, placed his hand over his mouth while delivering an opening speech for Trump and mimicked a stereotypical Native American war cry after referencing Warren.

Trump has revived a 2012 controversy involving Warren's claims of Native America heritage and has referred to the Senator as "Pocahontas" in recent weeks. Carr built on those attacks in his opening speech, saying, "You know Elizabeth Warren, right?" before putting his hand to his mouth to imitate a "war cry." Trump has criticized Warren for being unable to prove she is Native American, saying, “She made up her heritage, which I think is racist," and he has even gone as far as to demand she take a DNA test

Warren has been a staunch critic of Trump, slamming him on social media and on the campaign trail with Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. Earlier this week, she called Trump a “small, insecure, money-grubber who fights for no one but himself” and as “a nasty man who will never be President of the United States.”

The ongoing "Pocahontas" references to Warren come after Trump promised to be "more presidential" leading up to the elections in a campaign marked by controversial gaffes and offensive comments. A Wednesday poll showed Trump falling further behind Clinton with 36 percent of the vote compared to Clinton's 46 percent.
