Authorities in Overland Park, Kan. have fired one of their police officers after he allegedly made threatening comments to a Dallas-area woman in the wake of the horrifying shooting that left 5 officers dead and many more wounded. KCTV 5 reports that Layandra Williams had posted some pictures of her daughter to her Facebook page back in 2014. Shortly after the attack took place, an Overland Park officer reportedly commented on those photos, writing, "We'll see how much her life matters soon..better be careful leaving your info open where she can be found :) hold her close tonight, it'll be the last time."

"I was upset because this is my child," Williams told KCTV 5. "If it had been me, it would have been different but this is my child." Williams then noticed that the individual was a police officer from Kansas. "I saw that he was a cop and I was like, 'This is outrageous. This is not acceptable at all.'"

After the incident came to light the officer was very quickly dismissed from the force. "I immediately initiated an investigation into the officer’s actions and requested it be completed in a timely manner," Overland Park Police Chief Francis Donchez Jr. said in a statement on Facebook. "It was obvious that our officer did not meet the standards of professionalism for the Overland Park Police Department." He added, "His actions do not represent the Overland Park Police Department in anyway and no one should be subjected to any type of discrimination or this kind of behavior."

The Overland Police Department did not immediately return Complex's request for comment.
