Over the course of this year, we've learned many things about the forthcoming iPhone 7, some which may be true and others that may be rumors. Perhaps the most controversial update is that the new model won't contain a headphone jack, but previous leaks have hinted that it would be replaced by two sets of stereo speaker holes. A new report, however, suggests that isn't the case.

The new bit of information comes fromNowhereelse.fr, which shared leaked design schematics that show there will be no secondary speaker for the iPhone, which currently has only one downward-facing speaker, Mashable reports. The absence of the stereo speakers furthers the mystery behind Apple's  bewildering decision to remove the headphone jack.

While iPhone models prior to the iPhone 6 did boast dual speaker grilles, none of them were stereo speakers, meaning no iPhone has ever had stereo speakers. Two models of the iPad have enhanced audio due to output stereo sound, but so far, stereo speakers aren't looking promising for the iPhone 7.

With the possibility of stereo speakers for the new iPhone, it seemed that tech buffs were beginning to accept the absent headphone jack for enhanced audio quality. But with these new schematics that show no sign of stereo speakers, it's back to the drawing board to figure out why Apple made the bold decision to remove the headphone jack.
