An interracial couple in Olympia, Washington was stabbed Tuesday by self-proclaimed white supremacist Daniel Rowe after he saw the couple kissing. Rowe was arrested for the stabbing, for which he’s facing hate crime charges.

The stabbing of the 47-year-old black man and 35-year-old white woman happened at about 8:30 p.m., Olympia Police said in a news release. The man police was reportedly stabbed in the abdomen and the woman received a "superficial knife wound." Neither wound was life-threatening, but the man was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Rowe attacked the couple because he was angry after seeing them kiss, reportedThe Washington Post.

Rowe, 32 and from Richland, Wash., came up to the couple on the sidewalk and pulled the knife on the victims without saying a word, police said a news release. However, Rowe yelled a racial slur right before the attack.

Police were able to capture Rowe after the male victim chased the white power advocate and "tripped him up," said police department spokesman Lt. Paul Lower. Lower also said Rowe told police, "Yeah, I stabbed them. I’m a white supremacist."

KOMO News reported court documents stated Rowe had tattoos that read "white power," "skinhead," and "hooligan" over the confederate flag.

Citing the same court documents, KOMO News reported Rowe told police he was in downtown Olympia after hearing Black Lives Matter wrote anti-police graffiti in downtown Olympia, though police have not said that.

According to the court documents Rowe, "took a blood oath to fight on the street, and if he was let go tonight, he planned on heading down to the next Donald Trump rally and stomping out more of the Black Lives Matter group." The documents further stated that Rowe said "he knew we [police] couldn't hurt the black groups on the street so he wanted to let us know that he takes care of them for us. That he is able to fight those fights and will continue the fight against all of the Black Lives Matters people."

Rowe was taken to Thurston County Jail on two charges of first degree assault and possible malicious harassment, which legally means "hate crimes" or "bias crimes."
