In what is either one elaborate movie campaign for next year's It remake or just a weird period of time in our country, a teen has been arrested for clown threats made to Alabama schools. Days ago, a woman and two juveniles were arrested for threatening an Alabama school as the 'Flomo Klowns,' leading to a school lockdown.
The Alabama's Lee County Sheriff's Office confirmed the arrest of a 16-year-old female Beauregard High School student after working together with the Opelika Police Department. The arrest was made in Beauregard at about 3:00 p.m. local time. The Sheriff's Office didn't reveal the suspect's identity because of her age.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the teen made a social post under the name "Kaleb Klown" in which she threatened three schools, including Opelika High School and Beauregard High School. The post mentioned bringing a firearm to school and included the phrase "blow it up," the Sheriff's Office wrote.
The teen is facing several counts of terrorist threats that a convicted adult would face up to 10 years in prison for and upwards of a $15,000 fine.
Opelika schools were placed on lockdown Wednesday, the Opelika Auburn News reported. Just yesterday, more Alabama schools were reported to be on lockdown due to increasing clown threats. That's probably why an 11-year-old in Georgia felt the need to bring a knife to school to protect herself from clown attacks and was arrested for it.
