A Pennsylvania woman was left dumbfounded when a fish mysteriously fell from the sky, striking her in the face and ruining her leisurely walk to a workout class. Lisa Lobree had initially embarked on a fish-free walk in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia on Labor Day morning when a gravity-burdened catfish landed on her face, CBS Philadelphiareports. Thankfully, Lobree only suffered minor injuries upon the rude fish's impact.

Though the site of impact was largely isolated to Lobree's face, she said the predictable stench of the airborne catfish was a nuisance for her entire body. "I think it might have been head, face, and neck because I smelled so bad afterwards," Lobree told reporters. "I smelled disgusting." Lobree was initially unsure what the hell had happened, but a nearby friend promptly filled her in.

"Annie sees me go down, turns around, looks, and goes, 'Oh my god! It was a fish,'" Lobree remembered of the fateful encounter. After calming down and learning that a falling fish was the source of her anguish, Lobree returned home and "literally showered for 30 minutes" and noticed that her face was swollen with a "small cut" on the cheek.

When Lobree developed a post-fish fever later that afternoon, she called her doctor to get an expert's opinion on the likelihood of developing some sort of infection due solely to contact. The doctor, Lobree said, first thought she was pulling a prank before asking the tough questions: "She asked if [the catfish] was from an airplane," Lobree toldPhilly.com Saturday.

The leading theory has nothing to do with planes, however, and everything to do with a hungry bird that just so happened to lose grip on its snack directly above the unfortunate woman's face. By Lobree's estimation, this triumphantly marks the first time she's ever caught a catfish. Well, kinda. "It was the first catfish that my face caught," Lobree proclaimed.
