Swipe left between the "Stories" and "Discover" pages on Snapchat between now and October 7, and you might notice a promotion for TurboVote, the voter registration platform developed by a Harvard alum who thought the process was too onerous while he was away at school.

The non-profit—which is sponsored by universities as well as the charitable branches of companies like Google—has partnered with Snapchat to help users register quickly. The process is expected to take just 60 seconds.

"When you want to do anything else, you start online—except for voting," founder Seth Flaxman told Mashable. "I think the future of voting is seamless mail-in voting. The ballot will come automatically in the mail, you'll get reminder texts, you open your laptop and look at the ballot, do your research and mail it in."

While Millennials are among the largest voting bloc in the U.S., the group has a precedent of low voter turnout, as only about 46 percent of them voted in the 2012 election. Experts credit that to apathy and difficulty of voting, especially for college students who need to register for an absentee ballot.

You can also register for an absentee ballot through Snapchat.

"We wanted to make vote by mail really easy," said Flaxman. "We saw that as the way to modernize the voting system and then thought 'oh, we also have to do voter registration.' For us it's about everything. We want to be a single place where users can sign up and then only have to worry about who they're going to vote for."

Celebrities like Jared Leto, Jimmy Fallon, Ciara, Dwayne Johnson, and Ryan Seacrest have partnered with Snapchat to promote the service.

The presidential election is only one and a half months away, and early voting has already begun in a handful of states—so this is your friendly reminder to register if you haven't done so yet.
