Even though some—including neo-Nazis—may have thought Donald Trump lost the first presidential debate between him and Hillary Clinton, there was another group taking an even bigger L that night: Trump supporters. Pissed off at everyone but Trump, some supporters flooded Twitter to try and blame debate moderator Lester Holt, only to confuse him with Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester.

Twitter users tweeted at Jon Lester complaining about being biased towards Clinton in the debate and accusing him of being a racist. Instead of going off on them Lester kept his cool and responded to the pissed off Trump supporters clarifying that he wasn't the Lester they were looking for. In one occasion Jon Lester even joked around with a Twitter user saying she should "dig a little deeper in your Twitter search" before tagging Lester Holt in the tweet.

If you, like the probably embarrassed Trump supporters didn't know, Lester Holt is the NBC Nightly News anchor. Jon Lester on the other hand will be leading the Cubs in pursuit of their World Series title in 108 years.

With revelations about Trump's 1995 taxes in the days since the debate of course this hilarious case of mistaken identity flew under the radar until now.
