At this point, just about everybody knows about the Mannequin Challenge. It's been done by a handful of musicians, including Young Thug, Paul McCartney, Desiigner, Destiny's Child, Britney Spears, and Drake. Even the Cleveland Cavaliers and First Lady Michelle Obama gave it a shot. While it didn't help Hillary Clinton win the election, it did help Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles" hit the top of the charts. But the Mannequin Challenge has been a lot less fun for others, like the two Alabama men who were arrested after posting a Mannequin Challenge featuring at least 19 guns and 22 men.
With "Ain't No Comin Down" by Louisiana rappers T.E.C. and Maine Musik (whose own social media videos have caught the police's attention) playing in the background, the Mannequin Challenge video (which you can watch above) shows 22 men hiding behind the cover of cars and trash cans and aiming at least 19 guns, which include multiple pistols, a shotgun, and an assault rifle.
According to AL.com, the video was posted Nov. 9 and was shared at least 86,000 times, prompting Madison County Sheriff's investigators to get a search warrant for the home in Huntsville, Alabama. That led to the arrests of 49-year-old Kenneth Fennell White and 23-year-old Terry Brown on Tuesday after investigators found several bags of marijuana, scales, and a grinder, as well as two handguns, a shotgun, an assault rifle, a tactical vest, and ammo.
White, who's being held at Madison County Jail with bail set at $30,000, was charged with possession of a firearm by a violent felon as well as first-degree possession of marijuana.
Brown, whose bail is set at $3,800, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and loitering. After he was taken to jail, more marijuana was found in his possession, and police added an additional charge of promoting prison contraband.
According to the Washington Post, the video could leave to even more arrests. "There are several persons in the video who may be convicted felons," Capt. Mike Salomonsky said. "So, we're going to try to do some identification, work with the ATF and see if we can generate any charges out of that."
Don't let the Mannequin Challenge land you in jail.
