Dating, despite being widely not recommended by anyone, is still a thing that exists. People date. People breakup. People date again. And to what end? I haven't the faintest idea, but here we are Tindering and whatnot in an endless quest to feel less alone. But even the most jaded of daters have to commend the ingenuity of this University of Kansas student.
Wait. A PowerPoint?!?!? Pretty brilliant shit. Speaking to the Daily Dot Thursday, Grace said the idea was born from a string of less-than-great Tinder experiences. "I had been having some bad luck on Tinder, and my profile was pretty boring because I was taking it too seriously and didn't want to look 'weird,'" she told the Dot. "I never really felt confident about my profile before, so I think it stopped me from standing out."
One of Grace's friends recommended peeping the methods of an unnamed guy who had previously employed a PowerPoint-assisted profile after hitting some similarly bad luck. This unique Tinder approach, Grace said, inspired her. "I've always been the 'funny person' in my life, so I decided to just take that and run with it," she told the Dot. After toying with a template for 20 minutes, Grace had an exemplary PowerPoint of her own.
The PowerPoint has already been a success, as Grace revealed Thursday that she's "still talking" with someone she met in Lawrence weeks ago after matching on Tinder.
Already rocking your own PowerPoint but rarely succeed at anything but striking out? The real problem is probably your name.
