Astro may not have taken home the prize on FOX's The X-Factor, but the teen rapper from Brooklyn came out on top. MTV reports that Astro has signed a deal with his X-Factor mentor L.A. Reid at Epic Records.

The young spitter was eliminated from the competition on December 1, and afterwards rumors started to spread that he had signed to Roc Nation. Although Astro denied the rumor, he seemed open to a deal, saying, "I have never met anyone from Roc Nation. I'd love to, but I'm not signed right now to anyone."

"I just want to be in a place where I'm comfortable 100 percent," he explained. "I just want to be able to release my music, do my movies, [and] everything is fair." So far, there are no details on the deal with Epic, but Astro is expected to make the official announcement later today on MTV's RapFix Live.
