We first learned about Killer Mike and producer El-P working on collaboration album through Maurice Garland. According to him, he is responsible for the title R.A.P. Music (Rebellious African People Music), which he coined the term during a random Twitter rant a few months ago. Mike loved it and inspired him to record a grittier album sounding straight from the streets.
For the first single off the upcoming project, Mike nabs Bun B, T.I. and Trouble for “Big Beast.” R.A.P Music will have all production duties handled by El-P. The project is set to release on May 15. Check out the single, available now on iTunes, and tracklist below.
