Gunplay is as awesome as he is awkward. If you've seen any of his awesome vlogs, you've seen him do everything from go bass fishing to having a ball at Six Flags. He's one of the great rap characters, and hasn't really caught fire for his art yet.

Pigeons & Planes recently interviewed Gunplay, but decided to speak on a number of unconventional topics, from UFOs to cats. They also asked him about dubstep:

Would you ever be open to making a dubstep song?

Most definitely, this is the entertainment business. I don’t like to be boxed in. I got to vibe with it though. I got to like it. I can’t just do it because it’s hot. I want the whole concept. It has to be set up for me already where they know I like it.

Lightbulb! Maybe DAD can help Gunplay find a dubstep producer that would be able to match Gunplay's ferocious rhyme patterns. Here are 10 producers we thing could fill this position.

Flux Pavilion

This took the collaboration between rappers and dubstep to a completely different level when it came out. It was in regular radio rotation in the UK, and is still such a fun record to listen to. Nothing like it had come out, and for Foreign Beggars to actually record specifically for this Flux Pavilion track was major. Most records that led up to this one that meshed dubstep and rap had chopped vocals, amateur emcees, or were existing songs that were reworked. This was completely original, and felt like it was really MADE for us.

Kromestar

This banger flips some classic M.I.A. lines. Not to be confused with the remix of F-One's "Swagga" (which one would think might be the track as they're searching for it), "Bonafied Hustlahz" is absolutely large. Nobody would be mad at all if this turned into a complete song. Forgive the skips in the song as well… his team is serious when it comes to having his music out there on the 'Net.

Crizzly

This youngster was certified in the dubstep community before he could vote. His catalog is filled with dope dubstep remixes of known songs, but it would be incredibly cool to see him collaborate with Gunplay. A major collaboration is LONG overdue for Crizzly.

Total Recall

This single came out, and probably sat in my downloads folder for weeks before someone pointed out to me that there was a full verse on it. I never heard much from Total Recall beyond this tracks and a small sprinkle of other singles, but this one was incredible. We imagine they'd cut Gunplay a good deal on a track, right?

Benga

Wouldn't it be great to see Benga, the man that publicly backed away from dubstep, do exactly what he swore he wouldn't do? This track with Youngman was probably overlooked, but certainly fantastic. I think Gunplay's energy in a studio session would make for some great records.

Lost

"Dirty Bandit" was one of those records that fizzled with the amount of time we had to wait for it. It was given up for free after Lost received 4000 likes on his Facebook page? There were about 12 of us that spent months chasing this release all the way until it dropped. The vocal flip on this is disgusting, and we can imagine that a full song would come out even crazier.

Jakes

Jakes is nothing short of a legend in dubstep. But between you and I, the reason that he's not known on a massive scale (read: headlining festivals) is because he has a countless number of tracks like this that almost nobody can find. He sends select records to select DJs and they often take WAY too long to come out. Or never do. But this track is HEAVY. The vocal is chopped through the song, with a break for the vocal to pop out at you.

Hulk

It took nearly two minutes before Hulk dropped the vocal on this record… they also don't credit Nicki Minaj or Ludacris on it. Maybe they were having copyright issues? Maybe he just didn't care to give the two rappers any more credit than they already had? Maybe they wanted to catch us off guard? It's possible that whoever tagged this dropped the ball. Whatever the case may be, the two verses feel like the icing on the cake.

Hizzleguy

This has a simple vocal from Fatman Scoop on it. It sounds pretty interesting…. until the drop. Less than 30 seconds in, this turns into one of the toughest records I've ever heard. I always wished there were full verses placed on this record though.

Evol Intent

Evol Intent hasn't had a release together in two years, and putting them with Gunplay would be a two-fold move. A proper E.I. reunion, with a sick track for everyone to vibe to. Knick's continued success as Bro Safari will likely nix any thoughts of a reunion record, but this unofficial N.W.A. remix is absolutely flawless.
