Kilo Kish f/ Flatbush Zombies "Creepwave"
Brooklyn’s Kilo Kish gave us an ominous first taste of her upcoming K+ mixtape this week. Kilo flexes her rap muscles on the appropriately titled lead single, “Creepwave,” up until Flatbush Zombies stop by to close the thing out with lyricism and groans. CRONOS produces the track and gives the whole thing an unsettling and ethereal backdrop.
The Purist f/ Danny Brown "Jealousy"
Can't wait for Danny Brown's new album, Old? Well, thankfully the Detroit spitter is staying on top of his feature game. But it's not just that he's been spitting on tracks by artists from Joey Bada$$ to The D.O.T.; Brown's been destroying his verses. Case in point: His guest appearance on U.K. producer The Purist's "Jealousy." Also, that Biggie sample? Perfect.
Ab-Soul & JMSN "You're Gone"
This week saw the release of the first single from Unit 6, the upcoming collaborative album from Ab-Soul and JMSN. The combination raised a few eyebrows when news first broke, but “You’re Gone” should quell any fears. The unlikely duo gets surprisingly dark on the track, both lyrically and with the ominous production, but don’t worry, there’s still time for Wii and PlayStation 3 references.
Disclosure f/ Aluna Francis "White Noise"
Two rising UK electronic duos came together this week for a wild, house party of a song. “White Noise” is officially a Disclosure track, and it might well stand on its own as a piece of wordless house production. AlunaGeorge steals the show, though, with the formidable pipes of Aluna Francis. Both outfits are slated to release debut LPs this year, and this track has us clamoring for both of them.
