In his first interview since her July 2011 death, Amy Winehouse's brother Alex said he thinks bulimia killed his younger sister, not drugs or alcohol. In a candid interview with the Guardian, Alex Winehouse alleged that it was the eating disorder that claimed his sister's life at the age of 27.

"She suffered from bulimia very badly," Winehouse said. "She would have died eventually, the way she was going, but what really killed her was the bulimia. . . I think that it left her weaker and more susceptible. Had she not had an eating disorder, she would have been physically stronger."

The interview is promoting "Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait," a new exhibit on display at London's Jewish Museum. The exhibit, which features a collection of items that show the side of the singer that her family knew, will run from July 3 until September 15—the day after what would've been her 30th birthday.
