Representing Los Angeles by way of Scotland, Nom De Strip (FKA Stupid Fresh) has been doing the damn thing over the last three years. With a pair of EPs and a remix of Tommy Trash's "Monkey See, Monkey Do" on deadmau5's mau5trap imprint, he's been a force to be reckoned with in the house scene. Seizing the opportunity, Chris Lake snapped Nom up for his Rising Music imprint in 2013, and has seen Nom's sound take off. Just one listen to his Devil's BBQ EP and you should be hooked. Right now Nom is on Rising Music's fall tour, and he contributed to their series of Five Tracks, giving us a great look at the tracks that influenced him to bring the ruckus in a way that only he can.

The Prodigy - "Poison"

First dance track I really loved, can't believe it's 18-years-old. Best live act I've ever seen.

Vitalic - "La Rock 01"

Absolutely huge track released by Gigolo Records, used to love that label.  I remember picking this EP up randomly on holiday in Berlin way ahead of the game, good times. Hearing 2 Many DJs play it in Leeds years later, was even better times.

Fatboy Slim - "Star 69 (What The F*ck)"

Track sounded like nothing else when it came out, amazing stuff!  Was regularly blasted loud on my minidisc player.

Green Velvet - "Flash (Timo Maas' Dirty Dub)"

Timo Maas was untouchable for a while, pioneering the "wet and hard" sound! His Mixmag '"Dirty Trancing" cover CD is the stuff of legends.

Sneaker Pimps - "Spin Spin Sugar (Armand Van Helden Remix)"

Another huge influence, I could have picked a number of his tracks but this is the one I still listen to the most.
