Pell releases his new record "Imaginary Friends." Produced by Staccs, the song showcases the emerging New Orleans rappers' knack for vivid lyricism as well as his vibrant delivery. His voice balances well with the hazy backdrop, allowing Pell to drop in and out of his flow with a fluid mark. The beat switches up near the end, which gives the song an extra layer of smooth. "Imaginary Friends" is a loose release from Pell, meaning it bears no connection to his 2012 mixtape Calphonic, nor his upcoming project in 2014. With that said, this song gives listeners a nice reminder of what Pell is capable of in the coming year. Stream, download, and more importantly, enjoy below.
