Less than a month ago, word was that Daft Punk would be performing at this month's 56th Annual Grammy Awards show. At the time, we speculated that the obvious move would be to perform "Get Lucky" with Pharrell and Nile Rodgers, or that the androids could throw us a curveball. It looks like they could be doing both; Pitchfork is reporting that not only will Pharrell and Rodgers be there, but they will be joined by Stevie Wonder and the session players that performed on Random Access Memories (which includes Chris Caswell, Nathan East, Omar Hakim, and Paul Jackson Jr). That means that major players in music for Chic, Dire Straits, Thriller, and, christ, Stevie Wonder(!) will be joining the androids on stage for what's sure to be a mega performance. Although now the question is: How does Stevie Wonder fit in? Will Daft Punk be playing more than one track, or some kind of Random Access Memories medley of sorts? This is definitely collaborative, and we imagine they'll have a lot to be celebratory about that night. We'll keep you posted when more details become available.

EDIT Harder Blogger Faster has posted this video of Omar Hakim talking about working with Daft Punk for Random Access Memories, where he mentions performing with the group at the Grammys alongside Stevie Wonder and others..
