The New York Times reports that Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' performance of "Same Love" at tonight's Grammy Awards will feature the wedding of 34 couples of varying ages and races, as well as both straight and gay. Lewis told the Times, "[the performance] 'will be in our minds the ultimate statement of equality, that all the couples are entitled to the same exact thing.'”

Mack and Lewis are set to perform the song with featured guest vocalist Mary Lambert. Madonna will also join while Queen Latifah will officiate the ceremony. Read more about the performance at the Times' Art Beat blog here.

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards will air tonight (January 26) at 8PM EST on CBS.
