The Michigan/Chicago duo The Cool Kids got fans excited last week when they announced that they were reuniting after a hiatus to release a new album, Shark Week. Now they've offered the first idea of what that might sound like with two new songs, "Computer School" and "Chop," which features California clique HBK Gang.

Cool Kids members Chuck Inglish and Sir Michael Rocks (formerly Mikey Rocks) have each been pursuing solo careers, with Chuck planning to release an album, Convertibles, later this spring, and SMR preparing his upcoming project, Banco. They've relocated to Los Angeles and Miami, respectively, which seems to have only improved their generally laid-back spirits.

But the two tend to be loved above all as a duo. Their late '00s output stands out as one of the first true successes in online promotion, and their combination of smooth posturing and minimalist beats remains fresh. So: they're back. With songs that capture the vibe of classic Cool Kids hits (Chuck even runs through some familiar themes on "Computer School" as evidence of trends he started) while also managing to sound completely right now ("Chop" doesn't need an HBK Gang feature to slide right in alongside any number of cool, minimal West Coast songs from the past year).

While the two new songs suggest plenty of great stuff from the duo, though, there's still plenty on the way from their solo projects as well. Today, Sir Michael Rocks shared the video for "Memo," the first single from Banco. Check all three songs out below:
