Wiz Khalifa Shares His Greatest Risk & Most Embarrassing Moment for Complex Individuals

The Pittsburgh native talks about his earlier years as a struggling rapper.

Complex Individuals on Complex TV explores all of the random questions you never thought to ask your favorite artists, from the first album they ever bought to their favorite cuss words and go-to restaurants.

Within the last five years, Wiz Khalifa has transitioned from an unknown talent out of the Steel City to one of the biggest rap acts out. Everything wasn't so cushy for the Pittsburgh native, though, as he attests in this episode of Complex Individuals. Khalifa talks about traveling on the road dead broke, which he describes as his greatest risk. "Last place I went with no money in my pocket was Canada right before I made Kush & Orange Juice," he says. "But I ended up making $2,500 when I got there."

Wiz Khalifa has certainly gotten used to the spotlight that follows him, which can sometimes lead to moments that he'd rather forget. Still, there's one thing the rapper does behind closed doors that he gets embarrassed about. It's not as vain as it sounds, but Wiz Khalifa admits he likes to look at himself in the mirror. "I try not to do it as much, 'cause I get caught all the time practicing my moves and stuff like that," he says.

Watch the full clip above, where Wiz also shares his favorite song of all time and who he would choose as his dream collaboration. If you enjoyed this episode, watch Los Angeles-based rapper Dumbfoundead's latest appearance on Complex Individuals below.
