Been a bit since we'd heard from Bailey Smalls, and I can't front: I wasn't expecting him to be flipping a Dilla cut with this house bootleg. "Last Donut Of The Night" is taken from Dilla's Donuts, which is the last project he was working on before he passed away. He was a wizard with samples, made The Roots' ?uestlove switch up his style of live drumming, and is seen as a god amongst producers. To have Bailey pay homage via this bootleg is interesting - it's moreso in the sample he used than in the way he weaves it in, but with so many producers citing Dilla as an influence (including Disclosure), you'd think there were more of these reworks lying about. Get your bounce on.
