When we first started covering Lil Silva on DAD, it was as a producer for mind-blowing tracks with vocals from Banks and Sampha. Little did we know that Silva didn't need vocalists, as he's more than capable of doing it on his own. He's cooked up a five-track EP Mabel, which is due out on August 5. He churned out a soul-stirring instrumental on the title track, and puts his heart, soul, guts, and everything else into that vocal. Truly moving stuff. Word is that Mabel also features Banks on two tracks, and her upcoming debut LP has a lot of Silva production on it. Maybe they took notes from each other?
