The legendary Rock Steady Crew is celebrating its 37th anniversary this weekend in a major way. This afternoon, the b-boy crew will host its annual battle at SRB Brooklyn. The tournament-style battles will be hosted by Grandmaster Caz, and the winner will walk away with $1000. There will also be a two-versus-two b-girl battle for a $500 cash prize. The DJs for the battle include DJ JS-1 and DJ DP-One.

The following day the crew will host a free concert in Central Park at 3PM, in conjunction with Summer Stage. M.O.P., Slick Rick, Das EFX, DJ Red Alert, and Tony Touch are all slated to perform, with some surprise guests also very likely to grace the stage. This should be an amazing weekend for fans of classic rap acts, but don't sleep even if that isn't your preference: there aren't too many acts that bring the energy of M.O.P.
