While Que's "OG Bobby Johnson" has been on rotation in rap circles for over a year, it feels like it didn't start to truly cross into other realms until the beginning of 2014. For a track that's hook not only references a character from South Central but the German producer behind the track, it felt like Que's explosive entry into the music scene would be ripe for remixers. Surprisingly, there were more rappers trying to coast on that undeniable beat than there were producers trying to remix it, but we've scoured the 'Net and found the 10 best remixes of this track. Taking Que's hyper delivery and applying it to Jersey club, house, and twerk-y territories can't be easy, but it happened, and just like Future's "Move That Dope," helped shape the playlists and sets we rocked to over the summer of 2014.

Que - "OG Bobby Johnson (Benasis Wake Da Fuck Up Remix)"

Possibly the most "EDM" of all of these remixes. Benasis went in with the heavy trap vibes, making something massive for the festivals. Kudos for making sure the lyrics are still in tact, but those melodies might turn off fans of the original.

Que - "OG Bobby Johnson (Mike Labyrinth Remix)"

Not sure what's iller, the fact that this feels a hair away from a proper screwed up take, or the sleigh bells. Adds something different to the remix.

Que - "OG Bobby Johnson (HOLY SVND Remix)"

Not Available Interstitial

Quite surprised that there weren't more chilled remixes in this vein of "OG Bobby Johnson." Also surprised that this is the only track on HOLY SVND's SoundCloud page. Feels like something Hemsworth might drop.

Que - "OG Bobby Johnson (Skinny Friedman Remix)”

First off, the cover art on this one wins. Also, I think this might be one of the few twerk takes on "OG Bobby Johnson," although it's not the twerk you're used to. It's a bit slower, and with the darkness surrounding the original, it actually turns into a pretty inteesting flex on the source material.

Que - "OG Bobby Johnson (TM88 Remix)"

TM88 has been getting a number of production credits, including instrumentals for Migos, Rocko, OJ Da Juiceman and other rappers from the South, but there's something haunting about Que's furious lines being slung over this turnt-up take on the Halloween theme. Turns everything into a proper eerie situation, which is how it can be if you're really living that OG Bobby Johnson life.

Que - "OG Bobby Johnson (KiD 808 Remix)"

It's funny to hear a track that can be just as unpredictable as the way Que spits his lyrics. The way KiD 808 plays with the bass in this one makes this one work, and if you have proper subwoofers in your whip, you might need to turn this one all the way up.

Que - "OG Bobby Johnson (Walshy Fire & KickRaux Remix)"

Walshy Fire and KickRaux knocked this one out early in the "OG Bobby Johnson" game, and word at the time was that this would be made an official remix. You can still grab this remix for $free.99, which is good for those of you who want massive bass and the sounds of guns clicking in their "OG Bobby Johnson" sets.

Que - "OG Bobby Johnson (Aire Atlantica & RaceCarBed Remix)”

Not Available Interstitial

Thunderous house takes on "OG Bobby Johnson?" All about it. Aire Atlantica and RaceCarBed went in on this one, applying proper pressure to this one but still making it danceable for the kids up in the rave trying to get turnt.

Que - "OG Bobby Johnson (R3ll x Mike Gip #220 Remix)"

Surprised there weren't more Jersey club takes on "OG Bobby Johnson," but that might be because the Brick Bandits dropped in, turned it into a thumping bassline and some looped Que vocals, effectively silencing the competition (with a potato on the barrel, no less). It flows from club tendencies to trap vibes at the drop of a dime, which works perfectly for what we're trying to do (aka GO HAM).

Que - "OG Bobby Johnson (Ateph Elidja Remix)”

This remix was—and still is—downright frightening. The Bromance Records crew is known through and through for their hard techno material, as well as their love for rap music, which is evidenced by the work Brodinski's done with Kanye West, Gangsta Boo, and others. One of the latest signees to the click, Ateph Elidja, dropped on the scene and blew wigs back with this ominous, foreboding take on "OG Bobby Johnson," which sounds like some proper futuristic thug shit. It has a batch of insane, off-kilter noises running through it, but Que's rhymes are kept just as intense throughout. 3013 sci-fi thuggery, trust we.
