There was once a time when Wyclef Jean was afforded the opportunity to become a global pop star, and in doing so used the platform to create a seamless space in which continents and people were not divided by space, race or creed. Instead all were afforded the chance to dance to the same song in order to push for global unity. If you think such high-minded notions for music are for the birds, though, do not listen to the just-released collaboration between Jean and the similarly globally-motivated Avicii, "Divine Sorrow."

If you ever really needed to hear Wyclef Jean sing a soul ballad with the aid of autotune, this is the song for you. With word coming in July that the two have paired for Avicii's forthcoming artist album, this is not likely not the only recording of Avicii and Wyclef's we'll hear in 2015. Avicii's production features sparse, dubby basslines blending into guitar-driven progressive house complete with clapping builds, and thunderous drops with kickdrums at the front. Created (and now available) as part of the continuing partnership with (RED) and Coca Cola to fight the spread of the AIDS virus (this through the "Share The Sound of an AIDS Free Generation campaign), it certainly showcases two artists whose stardom certainly hasn't stopped them from finding a greater sense of purpose for their inherently pop-friendly work.
