Every year, The Killers write and record a Christmas song for the Product RED campaign. This year, they asked Jimmy Kimmel to join them in the studio and help them record what Kimmel calls, "the greatest holiday song recorded by non-Chipmunks." After Kimmel brought some holiday sweaters to the studio, they started to brainstorm some ideas:

"A Very YOLO Christmas."

"Grandma Got Runover By a Fat Family Who's Waiting in Line on Black Friday to Buy a Blu-ray Player for $18"

But they ended up with the idea of "Joel the Lump of Coal," like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer but a little more depressing. The Killers and Kimmel even created a classic '70s Rankin-Bass animation-style video to accompany the jingle.
