In a strange turn of events, it has been revealed that Beck and Beyoncé have crossed paths way before he won the Grammy for Album of the Year––just not in the way one would think. In a recent TIL (Today I Learned) post on Reddit, one member dug through the credits of Beyoncé's 2006 B'Day and discovered that Beck's father David Campbell provided string arrangements for the album. He even got a Grammy for it when it won Best Contemporary R&B album.

Campbell's list of accomplishments is long—he's worked as a composer on a number of chart topping albums like Taylor Swift's Red and Miley Cyrus' Bangerz according to his official site. Kanye West had a big moment during and after the Grammys last month when Beck beat Beyoncé for the award, but he later apologized for his outburst on Twitter. At least we now know that Beck's dad does respect the artistry, at least.
