If you know Rusko, you know that his sound was a big part of the dubstep explosion in America. His gnarly, humongous sounds–which many loves from tracks like "Cockney Thug" and "Woo Boost"–helped inform many American EDM fans to the 140BPM bombs being dropped by the likes of Skrillex and 12th Planet here in America. Over the past few years, however, Rusko's experimented more than ever, and Skrillex has allowed Rusko to let his freak flag fly, including releasing full-on drum & bass singles via OWSLA. Rusko's latest remix, however, sounds nothing like the tracks that people have heard from him before... and that's a good thing.

Etnik and Mykki Blanco's "Unclassified" was a menacing, twisted banger that found Etnik dropping bass that matched up perfectly with the venom that Blanco was spitting... so of course Rusko throws this tune on it's ear. Instead of going with an over-the-top bassline assault, Rusko finds the beauty in Mykki's bars, throwing his vocals into a talkbox and replacing the instrumental with a beautiful, piano-driven bed of sound. The venom is still there, but this turns into a dream sequence for slick-tongued believers. And truth be told, it's the most Rusko way to attack something in 2015.

You can grab this remix, along with new versions of "Unclassfied" from Wax Motif and Wiwek, via OWSLA on April 9.
