Prince disciple Gordon Voidwell has followed up his excellent Bad Études mixtape with not one, but two projects. The Minnesota-based, electro-pop crooner simultaneously released his debut album, Into the Void, along with the Leap Year EP. The entire album is self-produced, with Voidwell traveling across the pop spectrum while bringing on funk and r&b for the ride. The one guest instrumentation comes with Vernon Reid delivering a guitar solo on the the EP's opening "New Number."

You can cop Into the Void and Leap Year on iTunes, and stream both projects below.

UPDATE 3/24/15: Gordon Voidwell reached out to Complex to clarify that neither the LP or EP are new—both were contracted and completed four years ago. Here's his full statement:

Neither the LP/EP are "new" recordings. Both were contracted/completed over four years ago - long before "Bad Etudes" dropped. While I'm always happy to share any music/ideas with listeners, for a label to pass this music off as "new" really destroys every intention that "Gordon Voidwell" was designed to stand for. The project has always been about commenting on time (past, present, future) and I'd hate for people to misread my intention with these projects. They're old and don't represent where I'm at creatively - AT ALL.  So please enjoy the music, but bear in mind: a recording from four years ago can never fully engage its future, the present moment.
