It’s official: you’re not punk unless you make your own instruments.

Toronto band Secret Broadcast took DIY to a whole new level with a live performance video for the song “One Born Every Minute.” The band used 3D printing technology to make two guitars, a bass, and drum shells, and then recorded a song with their plastic instruments live off the floor. The forefathers of punk-rock would be so proud—nothing says "we jam econo" like an eight thousand dollar 3D printer.

You might expect a guitar printed out of plastic to look pretty shoddy, but with the help of Agile Manufacturing and 3D Systems, Secret Broadcast’s 3D-printed gear actually looks, and perhaps more importantly, sounds amazing.

Check out the video above. Just a reminder: many libraries are equipped with a fully functioning 3D printing lab. Go make a plastic ukulele and hit the open mics. Actually, no. Please don’t do that.
