Bromance will release the new self-titled Gener8ion EP on June 15, a decidedly concise (at just four tracks) detour for French DJ/producer Surkin — the guy behind that frenetic Charli XCX "Boom Clap" remix and M.I.A.'s 2013 album Bring The Noize. For "The New International Sound (Part II)," Surkin taps back into the beautiful noize of M.I.A. with a collaboration built for weekends and mushrooms.
The collaboration comes two weeks after M.I.A. posted the possible demo "Platforms" to her SoundCloud page, a track — demo or not — possessing the same contagious sense of vibrancy and characteristically atypical melodies that define much of the artist's best work.
Though it's too soon to update the history books, "The New International Sound (Part II)" might very well join those rankings.
