Iggy Azalea was recently tapped to headline the upcoming Pittsburgh Pridefest, a decision that has come under fire by the LGBTQ community who are now protesting and filing petitions to prevent the Australian rapper from performing. According to Billboard, people were already unhappy with the festival before the Iggy announcement, but that news put everything over the top and led to the protests and petitions.

The anger over Iggy's inclusion in the festival seems to be understood, as on many occasions she has tweeted or said racially insensitive or homophobic remarks. The foundation that is putting on the festival seems to be sticking by the selection of Iggy however, and will go forward with her performing at the event on June 13. "If we believed that Iggy Azalea was racist or homophobic, we certainly would not have selected her to headline Pittsburgh Pride. We also don't believe she would have agreed to come if she was racist or homophobic," the Delta Foundation said in an interview with Pittsburgh City Paper.
