Before he became Yasiin Bey, a young Mos Def was blessed with an opportunity to work with one of the greatest producers hip-hop has ever known, J. Dilla. The two would collaborate on a number of songs up until the JayDee's untimely death nine years ago. While hip-hop usually celebrates the life of J. Dilla during Dilla Weekend in February, Bey dances to the tune of his own drum and has decided to perform a special tribute a few months later.
On June 11, 2015 fans in London will be treated to Yasiin Bey's one night only special tribute to J. Dilla. He will be performing over nothing but Dilla's classic tracks.
