Hudson Mohawke's Lantern album was all set to drop on June 16 but got an early release in the form of an iTunes 'First Listen' a few days ago. (The album is still streaming right here for the time-being while the official release date is set for Tuesday.) Earlier today HudMo took to Twitter and live-Tweeted an extensive track-by-track breakdown of the whole record as fans listened along.
In the Tweets he opens up about the Jhene Aiko collab, explains how one track is an ode to throwback Just Blaze and Kanye West beats, confirms that the whole album is free of rapping (for now at least), and way more.
Check out a few of the better revelations below and head over to iTunes for the stream.
The album opens with my little sister nina saying my name when she was just 8 or 9
