Rapper Joell Ortiz and producer !llmind are collabing on a new album titled Human. The first single is "Latino Pt. 2" featuring Emilio Rojas, Bodega Bamz, and Big Pun's son Chris Rivers. It's the sequel to a cut on Joell's first album, The Brick: Bodega Chronicles. The Slaughterhouse veteran let us know why this particular song is special to him:
"I had a record on my very first album called "Latino," and it meant a lot to me because I'm very proud to be a Puerto Rican that made it in this game. I know exactly how tough it is to get into the hip-hop scene and be respected/validated when you're a Latino, and I wanted to give Bodega Bamz, Emilio Rojas, and Chris Rivers the opportunity they so well deserved. All of these young brothers have been grinding and making a name for themselves out here. It was an honor to have them featured on our album."
Produced by !llmind the track features some of the game's up-and-coming Latino rappers. One that might surprise you is Chris Rivers, whose wordplay is similar to his father's. Those are big shoes to fill, but he holds his own with the likes of Joell, Bodega, and Emilio. Hopefully we'll be hearing more from him and some more fire from Joell's upcoming album soon.
