Mark Morrison's "Return of the Mack" is a classic song with maybe an even better video. Released in 1996, the song was No. 1 in the U.K., and charted as high as No. 3 on the U.S. Top 40. And 19 years later, this shit still bangs. Play it at a party and watch as everyone reenacts the video and his accent. Unfortunately, this was Mark's peak. Since the song's release and subsequent success, he's had various run-ins with law and never gave himself a chance to make another hit.
Even still, not many can lay claim to creating a timeless tune. The song was produced by Cutfather & Joe, the former having a hand in numerous Top 10 singles throughout the years. But more importantly, the "Return of the Mack" music video is arguably music video directing extraordinaire Jake Nava's greatest creation.
Not Kelis' "Milkshake," not Beyonce's "Crazy in Love," but this amazing video from '96. This video was so ahead of its time, we decided to give you the best GIFs from it. Check out our breakdown.
