Kid Rock has been known to use the Confederate flag in his concerts as a backdrop or even draping it around himself when he performs. Following the massacre in Charleston, the the flag will be removed from the Capitol building in Columbia, South Carolina this morning after being voted on by lawmakers earlier this week.
In Kid Rock's hometown of Detroit, the local chapter of Al Sharpton’s National Action Network met at the Detroit Historical Museum to protest Kid Rock’s use of the Confederate flag. Kid responded "Please tell the people who are protesting to kiss my ass," in a statement to Fox News. As a result, protestors are threatening to boycott the museum which among its exhibitions includes one dedicated to the singer and 100 years of music in Detroit.
