While the Atlanta chapter of the NAACP is launching its own effort to remove the monument all-together, a new petition initiated by a man named Mack Williams looks to add an image of OutKast to the iconic Stone Mountain quartz carving in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The site is currently home to one of the largest relief sculptures in the world, and as the NAACP points out, the monument is an enormous tribute to Confederate leaders Jefferson DavisThomas "Stonewall" Jackson, and Robert E. Lee. With the recent purging of the Confederate flag from South Carolina Capitol grounds as an example, the Atlanta NAACP chapter leader Richard Rose turned his focus toward Stone Mountain and complained, "My tax dollars should not be used to commemorate slavery," according to Fox.

The tongue-in-cheek petition to add Andre 3000 and Big Boi to the monument isn't looking for the removal of the current carving and instead just wants to commemorate the legendary Georgians on a similarly grand scale. "We simply wish to add new carvings, of Atlanta hip-hop duo Outkast, to the mountainside," Williams wrote on MoveOn.com. "There's plenty of room. I believe that Daddy Fat Sacks and Three Stacks should be carved riding in a Cadillac (as is their wont). This will help the new carving blend nicely with the Confederates who are on horseback."

"Outkast are two of the greatest Georgians in the history of our state," he continues. "It's about time the Empire State of the South paid proper tribute to them, while also improving a great monument and tourist attraction."

So far the petition has 1,149 signatures at the time of this writing and Williams is hoping to reach 2,000. Meanwhile, at least one member of the duo is down with the plan.
