On August, 1 2014, Remy Ma was released from the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility after spending six years in prison for assault, weapon and coercion charges. One year later, she looks back at how life has changed for her in a pair of Instagram posts.

Remy Ma reminisced on waking up in her bed for the first time in 2,318 days – a selfie that’s still very much a celebratory statement for her. She thanked everyone who supported her and gave a special shout out to her husband Papoose. The reunited couple has been inseparable ever since, where they plan on joining the cast of Love & Hip Hop: New York in what should be a lot of fun for them.

Since she came home, Rem's been focused on her big return to music. She dropped her I’m Around mixtape that served as a warm-up to her comeback LP PunisHER, which is an ode to the late Big Pun who helped her get started in rap. She’s been actively freestyling over instrumentals and collaborating with various artists in 2015, and she’s recently appeared on Pap's new album, You Can’t Stop Destiny, on “Michael Jackson” featuring Ty Dolla $ign.
