Good music and good beer go hand in hand, and select Canadians can ride the lightning soon. Legendary rockers Metallica have partnered with Budweiser for a limited edition beer that will be available in Quebec stores starting today.

Now, why is it only available in Quebec? You can chalk that one up to the special relationship the band has with the city.

It’s no secret that the citizens of Quebec City loves rock music, and as such, it’s always been one of Metallica’s favourite places to visit. On September 14th, Metallica played the final show ever at Quebec’s Colisee Pepsi, a venue they headlined a total of 8 times. It only made sense that on September 16th, the band would be the first to perform at Quebec City’s new venue, Centre Videotron. The band steamrolled through an 18-song set, blaring classics like “Creeping Death,” and “Battery,” as well as late-era favourite “St. Anger.”

It was a momentous occasion for metal in Quebec City, and if any concert deserves its own commemorative beer, it’s this one. Not only does the can bear the logo of the iconic metal giants—the beer is infused with the music of Metallica.

While the band performed, Budweiser set up a special tailgate party with a monstrous Metallica tanker filled with beer. They transmitted the live feed of the concert directly into the batch, thereby imbuing the beer with the band’s hit-heavy setlist. The end result is enough to get a party started: over 91,000 cases of the Metallica-enhanced beverage.

If you happen to be a metalhead who lives in Quebec, you’re in luck—Metallica beer hits shelves today, with limited edition autographed cans that can be found in select cases of 15 and 24. Queue up The Black Album, and get ready to taste the rock.
