Colonel Loud's latest single "California" is just another of example of how rap styles are no longer restricted to certain regions. Here's an MC out of Raleigh, N.C., who alongside Young Dolph (Memphis), Ricco Barrino (High Point, N.C.), and producer Mr. Hankey (Atlanta), churned out an infectious track that sounds and smells like a state none of them reside in.

We included "California" in our Bout to Blow column a few months back. The song has since taken off at radio with some extra juice courtesy of veteran rapper T.I., who shows out on the new version. "California" currently sits at No. 14 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, and there's a good chance it will continue to rise even as the months grow colder. Why? Because there's nothing better than dreaming about summertime in the winter.

Today, Complex premieres the music video for this laid back track that's heating up the airwaves. Colonel Loud and crew kick it at a lavish house party in the hills, where drinks are flowing, weed is plentiful, and beautiful women outnumber them 5-to-1. There's also a lot of stunning shots of major cities like L.A. and San Francisco that bring the Cali vibes to life. Check out the Iconick-directed video above and grab Colonel Loud's "California" on iTunes here.
