Sam Smith made an appearance on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 Radio show today, where he debuted his new super sadboy anthem, "Drowning Shadows." Along with the new song, Smith announced that he'll be releasing another special edition of his In the Lonely Hour album on Nov. 6. "'Drowning Shadows’ the song is the saddest song I’ve ever written and the least radio-friendly song I’ve ever written,” Smith said.

He also revealed that this ballad was penned before "Stay With Me," but they ultimately couldn't get the production right to include it on the actual album back in 2014. Now, the song will get its own shine on the new deluxe version of the album. The project, which will also feature various covers and live versions of songs from the album, is available for pre-order on iTunes here
