Justin Bieber has a lot to celebrate with Purpose finally dropping last week. This morning, Biebs stopped by the TODAY show to discuss the album and perform several songs. Before the conversation began, Matt Lauer touched on the devastating attacks that occurred in Paris last week and Bieber's friendship with the music executive who was tragically killed. "It was really hard for me. We'd been working together for probably four, five years. It's just a sad thing."

The conversation then turned to Bieber himself and his past years of troubles. "A lot of people go through those struggles, but they're not in the public eye," he told Matt Lauer. "I grew up in the spotlight, so it was tough for me. But we're on the other side." Bieber also noted Purpose is about moving on to the next phase of his life. "It's been a long journey, but I think I'm in the best place I've ever been."
