As 2015 comes to an end, year-end lists are making their rounds. Spotify has already released their stats for the year and now Twitter has arrived with their annual report of what happened with #ThisYearOnTwitter. Katy Perry remains the most followed person on Twitter with 78.6 million followers. She is followed by Justin Bieber who has 70.9 million followers. Taylor Swift passed President Barack Obama to become the third most followed person on Twitter with 67.1 million followers. After Obama, Rihanna and Lady Gaga round out the list of the most followed people on Twitter.
Twitter also released a list of the most retweeted posts this year. One Directiondominated the list with members and former member Zayn Malik all taking up a spot in the list of top 10 most retweeted posts. Its current member Harry Styles who was retweeted the most this year following the news breaking that Zayn Malik was leaving the group. His tweet "All the love as always. H" was retweeted over 729,000 times.
