With Puff Daddy named as an executive producer on Pusha T's latest album the Clipse rapper has been talking up the legendary Bad Boy Records founder recently and detailing his influence on the new music. Speaking with NPR's "Microphone Check," Push spoke at length about Puff's prowess as a producer, singling him out from a roster of contributors to his album including Q-TipBoi-1daKanye WestJ. Cole, and more. "Puff surprised me the most," Pusha said. "Truthfully, I been in the game since '97. Getting on, losing deals, all this stuff. You would always hear these rumors of, 'Puff don't produce for real. He ain't the producer for real.' My records wouldn't have happened without Puff in the studio with me. The way I want to hear my records weren't going to be what they were without him in the studio with me. I ain't had nobody push me like him."

In a separate interview with Sway Calloway released yesterday Pusha T shared similar thoughts, calling Puffy "the toughest critic in life." "I mean, it's hard to impress him," he added. "This my first time working with him. So he give you that, 'Yeah it's alright I guess, playboy.' And I'm like rapping my heart out."
