Less than a week after radio personality Ebro Darden took issue with Complex ranking Rae Sremmurd's debut album as one of the best releases of the yearPusha T has weighed in and thrown his support behind the duo. Visiting the Hot 97 offices today, Pusha called Rae Sremmurd his "favorite group."

"I don't know man, I sort of feel like you took their ranking a bit too personal," Pusha said of Ebro's gripes over Complex's list. "That's really my favorite group," Pusha said of the Sremmurd brothers. "They literally are my favorite group." When asked about what intrigues him about Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy, the Clipse rapper offered: "It's the flows, the melodies. It's the actual song structure. They make songs that I can't make, literally. I wouldn't make those songs, but I know how to enjoy their music fully. I know how to enjoy their music." He went on, "They make records that work on the radio. A lot of times records that work on the radio have a level of corniness to me. I don't feel like their records are corny." When pressed about Complex ranking SremmLife as the third best album of the year, Pusha said, "I'm happy with it. I'm good with #3." Later, when the issue of Sremmurd's lyricism was raised, Pusha held his ground, saying, "Whatever lacks lyrically, they got it in swag."

Later in the interview Ebro himself responds via freestyle to Sremmurd's recent 20-minute rapfest on Tim Westwood and jokes about playing their music for his daughter. Watch the full interview above and skip ahead to the 20-minute mark for the Rae Sremmurd-relevant back-and-forth.
