Glenn Frey, guitarist and co-founder of the famous rock band The Eagles, has died of "complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia," according to a statement on the band's website. Frey was 67 years old.
He was not only one of the band's founding members, but also co-wrote many of their biggest hits, including "Hotel California," "Take It Easy," and "One of These Nights." The band's compilation album Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 is the second-highest selling album in American history (after Michael Jackson's Thriller), moving over 29 million copies according to Billboard. The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
