A$AP Ferg might be a New York City rapper, but he just showed the West Coast that he can hang with the best of Cali too. The Trap Lord stopped by Power 106 LA and dropped a hot freestyle over the Wu-Tang Clan's "Triumph" beat. Spitting for a solid three minutes, he goes off on everything from his Adidas deal to his new song "New Level." "Dreams of fucking an R&B bitch and I ain't start picking yet/First I'ma go after Madonna/Because I know she like Rihanna/Then we can go to Tijuanna/Puff marijuana/Fuck in the back of a cabana," he spits. Halfway through the beat switches up, but an unfased Ferg keeps things going on with a double-time flow. "Bout to have a ni**a drop a bomb like Lebanon/These days I never go to bed alone," he raps.
Ferg is on the promotion circuit for his upcoming sophomore album Always Strive and Prosper, which is set to drop on April 22. He previewed a new collaboration with ScHoolboy Q earlier today, and dropped the album cover earlier this week as well. The album goes up for pre-order starting this Friday.
